City of Mount Vernon requests resumes from residents to fill City Court Judge vacancy

July 28, 2020 — The City of Mount Vernon congratulates Judge Adrian Armstrong on his new position as a NYS Court of Claims judge and looks forward to seeing him represent Mount Vernon on a higher stage in our judicial system. Following Judge Armstrong’s appointment, the position of City Court Judge is now vacant. As a result of this vacancy, Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard is calling on residents of the City of Mount Vernon to submit resumes to mclark@cmvny.com no later than July 30, 2020 at 4:30pm. Candidates for the position of City Court Judge should be prepared to interview by Saturday, August 1, 2020. Furthermore, Mayor Patterson-Howard has asked William O. Wagstaff III, Esq. to chair her judicial committee which will interview and provide recommendations to the Mayor on this appointment.

Mayor Patterson-Howard said, “Congratulations to Judge Adrian Armstrong on his new appointment to the NYS Court of Claims. His work in Mount Vernon has touched the lives of many of our residents and in his new position as a NYS Court of Claims judge, he will serve New York proudly. Our work now focuses on filling his position with a competent and qualified candidate. I’ll be forming a committee to review the resumes, interview candidates and provide recommendations on who to appoint to this position.”
