Mount Vernon small businesses can access up to $100,000 in capital loans from NY Forward Loan

June 11, 2020- Next Tuesday, The City of Mount Vernon will host a small business seminar on Zoom to help non-profits, small businesses, and landlords with 20 or fewer employees, apply for working capital loans of up $100,000. The webinar will include: How to Apply, Loan Eligibility Requirements and Reopening guidelines.

This seminar is part of the effort from Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard to reopen Mount Vernon and empower the small businesses in the community who have been affected by COVID-19. As the City of Mount Vernon, which started Phase 2 on June 9th, prepares for Phases 3 & 4, it will be critical that information and resources are provided to our small business community to help them in the recovery and growth of Mount Vernon.

Mayor Patterson-Howard said, “Our small businesses have been impacted severely from the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that the economic engine of a community starts with its small business owners. As they provide jobs and capital, the City of Mount Vernon grows stronger. We look forward to doing more seminars with other sectors of our business community. We thank Governor Andrew Cuomo and Empire State Development for making these monies accessible to businesses who missed out on the federal government allocation of funding.”
