Today, Friday, Feb. 19, Governor Cuomo announced that residents in parts of Yonkers and Mount Vernon will be able to begin making an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the new FEMA/New York State vaccination site in Southwest Yonkers, New York National Guard Armory at 2 Quincy Place.

Appointments for testing will open first for those with Mount Vernon zip codes 10550, 10552 and 10553 and Yonkers zip codes 10701, 10703, 10704 and 10705. On March 3, all Westchester County residents can begin making appointments.

All appointments will be made through the state site https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/

The new location is expected to open on March 3 and is expected to offer 1,000 vaccines each day.

Mount Vernon residents utilizing the public transportation to reach the new mass vaccination site can follow these directions:

  • 52 bus transfer to 30 bus at Bronxville Railroad Station West to N. Broadway & Ashburton Ave
  • 7 Bus to Getty Square and walk 0.4 mi to the site

Sites are currently under development. Appointments at FEMA-NYS partnered sites will be initially reserved for members of the community in which the sites are located, and community engagement efforts will be used to help and encourage community members sign up for appointments. More scheduling information, opening dates and hours of operation will be made available in the coming days.
