STATEMENT FROM MAYOR PATTERSON-HOWARD ON RECENT INDICTMENT OF CITY EMPLOYEE

As mayor, my administration is built on a platform of anti-corruption and transparency. I remain committed to these principles. When the city learned of this issue last October, my team and I took it seriously. We requested that any employees who received SBA Loans/ Grants contact their commissioners.

Seventeen employees came forward. Police Commissioner Glenn Scott compiled the information then handed it over to the proper authorities. My administration has fully cooperated with authorities and will continue to do so.

This is a hard day for Mount Vernon as we are a small and connected community and a situation like this will undoubtedly reverberate throughout our network of neighbors, family, and friends.
